As I read over this tears quickly fell from my eyes as she was one of the people I was looking through my year book looking forward to see. I did not have many classes with Valerie but she & I were cool.
Once I skiped Mrs.Bigerstafs class and the lady called my house to ask my mom "why I wasen't in class". Lucky for me I answerd the phone first. Mrs. Bigerstaf said " Rod you have your mother call me, if you don't I'll call every hour on the hour untill I get her!" I said "yes mam" hung up the phone,and took of down the street to Val's house. I told her what was up and she called Mrs Bigerstafs' house acting like my mom ( A little to well )and got me out of D-Hall. I'll never forget that story, and I"ll never forget her.
Wow. I saw her obituary in the paper when she passed. Valerie was so sweet and humble. Life is so short. I never heard her raise her voice or even get angry. May God bless her family.
